City News Mumbai•3 September 2026 at 03:04 am•0 views•2 min read

** During the second day of the BRICS Youth Council and Youth Summit 2026, young representatives from the bloc’s member countries visited the Statue of Unity, underscoring the event’s focus on unity, cultural exchange, and future cooperation.

**
The BRICS Youth Summit 2026, hosted in India, brought together more than 1,200 young leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The gathering, organized by the BRICS Youth Council, aimed to foster dialogue on shared challenges such as climate change, digital innovation, and inclusive economic growth. In line with the summit’s theme of “United for Sustainable Futures,” the second day featured a tour of the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, which stands as a national symbol of unity and progress in India.

During the visit, delegates were guided through the monument’s 182‑meter‑tall structure and the surrounding cultural center, which showcases India’s heritage and its role in the BRICS partnership. The tour provided a platform for participants to reflect on the symbolic significance of the statue, linking it to the collaborative spirit envisioned by the BRICS bloc. While no formal agreements were signed during the visit, the event reinforced informal networks among youth representatives and highlighted joint initiatives in areas such as renewable energy, technology transfer, and cross‑border educational exchanges.

The summit’s proceedings, including the Statue of Unity visit, are expected to influence future policy discussions within BRICS. By engaging young voices in high‑level conversations, the bloc signals its commitment to intergenerational leadership and inclusive decision‑making. The experience also offers participants a tangible reminder of the cultural and historical ties that bind the BRICS nations, strengthening the foundation for deeper cooperation in the coming years.
