Free health, eye and cancer screening camp on Muzhafar Hussain's birthday; wheelchairs distributed to 40 persons with disabilities

On the occasion of former legislator Muzzaffar Hussain’s birthday, various public‑benefit programs were organized for the needy citizens of society. A free health, eye and cancer screening camp was organized by the Umrao Institute of Medical Science and Research. Additionally, Congress councilors distributed wheelchairs to 40 disabled citizens.

A health camp was held with the aim of providing ordinary citizens timely health check‑ups, primary diagnosis and specialist medical guidance. The initiative was supported by the CEO of Parag Rindani Group, Wockhardt Hospitals, Dr. Nandkumar Lahane — Mira‑Bhayandar Municipal Corporation Medical Officer, Wockhardt Hospital and the Indian Cancer Society.

The camp offered a range of health examinations, including CBC, RBC, Total Cholesterol, ECG, Body Composition Analysis (BCA), blood pressure, eye examination, ENT examination, gynecological examination, clinical breast examination, VIA (Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid) and general surgical examination.

In addition, public awareness, primary screening and medical guidance on cancer prevention were provided. The main objective of the initiative was to ensure that no citizen is denied essential health checks or medical guidance due to financial difficulties.

The organization stated that health services are not limited to treatment alone but also encompass health awareness, prevention, timely disease detection and delivering medical facilities to those in need. Providing health services to economically weaker sections and spreading awareness for early detection of serious illnesses are important parts of the organization’s social work.

Under the same social responsibility, on the occasion of Muzzaffar Hussain’s birthday, Congress councilors distributed wheelchairs to 40 disabled citizens.

The aim of this initiative was to make daily mobility easier for disabled citizens, increase their self‑reliance and provide the necessary support for a dignified life. It was emphasized that disabled individuals must receive equal opportunities, respect and self‑reliance, and that true public service lies in moving forward together with every segment of society.

On this occasion, former legislator Muzzaffar Hussain said, “Working in public life, sharing in the joys and sorrows of the people and standing with them in times of need is true public service. More than the birthday wishes, the greatest happiness and satisfaction come from being able to do something meaningful for the needy sections of society.”
