Police to take strict action against Ganesh festival groups and DJ operators violating High Court directives and causing noise pollution during the festival.

Bhivandi. The police will take strict action against Ganesh festival groups and DJ operators who violate High Court directives and cause noise pollution during the festival. Cases will be registered against the groups that break the rules, while the DJ operators' equipment will be seized and arrest action will be taken. This warning was issued by Thane's Additional Police Commissioner Ashok Dudh.

Under the guidance of the Thane Police Commissionerate, a felicitation ceremony for public Ganesh festival groups that celebrated the festival in an eco‑friendly manner and adhered to the rules was held on Wednesday at the Oswal College auditorium in Anjurfata. During the event, Dudh appealed to the Ganesh groups and devotees to celebrate the festival peacefully and enthusiastically while following the High Court's directives.

Dudh emphasized that it is the responsibility of all Ganesh groups to comply with noise‑pollution regulations. Violating the prescribed sound limit will result in seizure of the DJ equipment and legal action against the respective operator. He made it clear that there will be no leniency towards rule‑breakers.

In the eco‑friendly Ganesh festival competition held last year, 43 public Ganesh groups from the city participated. Dhamankar Naka Mitra Mandal secured first place, winning the running shield and the first prize. The group’s executive head, Councillor Rajesh Shetty, and other officials accepted the award from Ashok Dudh.

Sanyukt Mitra Mandal, Gouripara, and Shri Ganesh Mitra Mandal jointly secured second place. Meanwhile, Sw. Pandit Nana Mitra Mandal, Chandanbag, and Swami Samarth Seva Committee Ganesh Festival Mandal were jointly awarded third place. The Young Mitra Mandal of Khoni received a special commendation award. Additionally, various Ganesh groups were honored with awards at the police station level.

The ceremony was attended by Bhivandi Municipal Corporation Mayor Narayan Chaudhary, MLA Mahesh Chougule, Municipal Commissioner Anmol Sagar, President of the Public Ganesh Festival Mahamandal Madan Bhoi, Police Deputy Commissioner Dr. Pawan Bansod, members of the Peace Committee, and a large number of Ganesh devotees.
