Large Excise Department raid in Lucknow before festivals, 10 liters of raw liquor seized – 50 kilograms of illicit liquor destroyed

In view of the upcoming festivals, a stringent campaign against illegal liquor was launched in the Lucknow zone on the orders of the Additional Chief Secretary (Excise), Government of Uttar Pradesh, Excise Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh, Police Commissioner Lucknow Tarun Gaba, and District Magistrate Vishakh.
This campaign was conducted under the direction of Joint Excise Commissioner Lucknow Zone Subhash Chandra Sonkar, Acting Additional Excise Commissioner Pradeep Dubey, and under the supervision of District Excise Officer Karunendra Singh Sachan.
*Main actions of the campaign:*
*Raheemabad raid:* Excise Inspector Area‑2, Malihabad Akhilesh Chaudhary, along with staff and Raheemabad police station, conducted a raid in village Auliakhenda and surrounding orchards. Ten liters of illegal raw liquor were seized and 50 kilograms of liquor were destroyed at the site. One case has been registered.
*Inspection of liquor shops:* Excise Inspector Sector‑10 Neha Kumari conducted a surprise inspection of country liquor shops located at Kishorganj, New Para Road, Laxman Vihar Para Road, and the Para Road composite shop.
*Bar and road checking:* Inspector Arvind Pal Baghel of Sector‑4 inspected bar licenses, while Rahul Singh of Sector‑11 and Ram Shyam Tripathi of Area‑3 conducted a nighttime road‑checking campaign on the Purvanchal Expressway.
