Narendra Mehta needs to understand Jainism — Muzafar Hussain

City News Mumbai•10 September 2026 at 03:09 pm•23 views•2 min read

Mira-Bhayandar, 10 September 2026 (City News Mumbai)

After the controversy over students' food habits that emerged during the Parikshan festival at Seven Square School, political rhetoric has now intensified. In this matter, Congress leader Muzzaffar Hussain targeted BJP MLA Narendra Mehta, saying that he first needs to understand Jainism and its religious beliefs.

Muzzaffar Hussain said that before commenting on religious topics, it is essential to understand their fundamental principles. He questioned and stated that it is not appropriate to divide society into different groups over issues of religion and diet.

He advised Narendra Mehta to study science and biology, saying that a scientific perspective is also necessary to understand matters related to food and the human body.

Muzzaffar Hussain also expressed his reaction to the issue of the protest by MANSE against the Parikshan directives of Seven Square School and the subsequent removal of the directives from the school's website by the administration.

He said that in a democracy, the public's voice is important on any issue. While respecting religious faith, the personal freedom and sentiments of all communities should also be considered.

Following Muzzaffar Hussain's statement, the political atmosphere is likely to heat up over the controversy linked to Seven Square School.
