Glory of Ganeshotsav in Mira‑Bhayandar, Winners Honored; Minister Sarnaik Directly Targets Municipality Over Theatre's Decline

Mira-Bhayandar, 30 August 2026 (City News Mumbai)

The award distribution ceremony of the ‘Ganpati Decoration Competition 2025’, organized by the Pratap Sarnik Foundation and Shiv Sena on behalf of Mira-Bhayandar city in memory of martyr Major Kaustubh Rane, was enthusiastically held at the Ganasamrajni Lata Mangeshkar Auditorium located opposite Mira Road. During the event, the winners were honored. However, the shutdown of the auditorium’s air‑conditioner and the scorching heat caused considerable inconvenience to the citizens present at the program.

In the program, Maharashtra’s Transport Minister and Dharashiv district’s Panchayat Minister Pratap Sarnik sharply targeted the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation administration over the auditorium’s dilapidated condition.

In the competition, which was organized to promote eco‑friendly Ganesh decorations, the Sai Nath Mitra Mandal of the public Ganeshotsav committees received the first prize of Rs 1,00,000 and a citation. The Sheetal Nagar Public Ganeshotsav Mandal was awarded the second prize of Rs 50,000, while the Shanti Nagar Public Ganeshotsav Mandal, Sector‑2, received the third prize of Rs 25,000 and a citation. The Garjana Mitra Mandal was given an encouragement prize of Rs 10,000. Additionally, ten other public Ganeshotsav mandals were each honored with Rs 10,000 and a citation.
