Mira-Bhayandar, 24 August 2026 (City News Mumbai)

Shiv Sena district chief Raju Yashvant Bhori has filed a written complaint with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, alleging that the municipal administration and police have allegedly carried out discriminatory action against local landless people, the Agri‑Koli community, and Marathi citizens in Mira‑Bhayandar city.

In his letter, Raju Bhori alleged that instead of respecting the mandate given by the public after the Mira‑Bhayandar Municipal Corporation election, the ruling party, in collaboration with the administration, has initiated a campaign of action against citizens holding opposing views. He said that the administration is allegedly targeting landless people and members of the Agri‑Koli community.

The complaint states that Mira‑Bhayandar city's identity has been associated with local villages, Kolivads, and tribal patches. The administration should act sensitively in matters concerning the homes, land, and livelihoods of citizens living in these traditional settlements. However, according to the letter, due to political pressure, municipal officials are allegedly adopting a bulldozer approach.

Raju Bhori also accused that police are exerting pressure on political opponents and their supporters. He mentioned the viral video involving a woman and the subsequent alleged action against Shiv Sena workers. He alleges that political opposition is creating mental and legal pressure.

He demanded that the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister urgently address the alleged discriminatory action against local citizens in Mira‑Bhayandar. He requested that the administration and police be instructed to act impartially and that strict action be taken against officials working under political pressure.

Raju Bhori said that protecting the rights of local landless people, the Agri‑Koli community, and Marathi citizens, and ensuring impartiality in administrative action, is essential.
