Demand of BJP group leader MLA Pravin Darekar.
Mumbai – The incident of misinformation in the BJP’s protest, which severely insulted Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, has caused intense dissatisfaction among Ambedkarites and the people of the state. Consequently, BJP group leader A. Pravin Darekar demanded on Saturday that the BJP apologise to the Ambedkarite community and to Maharashtra. He spoke at a press conference held at the BJP regional office. Media chief Omprakash Chauhan was also present.
Saying that the BJP’s protest had turned out to be a complete failure, Darekar expressed heartfelt thanks to the people of Mumbai for not responding to this rebellious protest in any way. He also congratulated the Mumbai police for handling the protest properly. The protest was carried out on the Congress’s script. Deepika is the face of the Congress, and this protest was a Congress‑sponsored protest. People with leftist ideology were seen in the march. He said that Deepika appeared depressed and bewildered because the protest received no response.
Darekar further said that this protest was carried out to express hatred towards the BJP and to showcase the greatness of the Congress. He claimed that the opposition parties, lacking sufficient popular support, are attempting to spoil the atmosphere through such protests. He also noted that the BJP is acting as the Congress’s “B team”. He strongly criticised the statements made in the protest about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He said that this stance would not be liked at all by the cultured people of Maharashtra, including Shah, Fule, and Dr. Ambedkar.
No one objects to staging a protest. However, the protest must be transparent and for the benefit of the public. If there is no trust in the Election Commission, then first Aditya Thackeray and Mahesh Savant should resign from their MLA positions and only then participate in the protest. He said that they were also elected through the same electoral process.
During the protest, incorrect names should not appear, and accurate information should be presented. While an FIR is being filed, there is no discussion of legal procedures; only a demand for the resignation of Kanyesh Kumar is being made. Darekar also said that making unfounded accusations merely to create confusion, sow chaos in the environment, and increase dissatisfaction to create a situation of anarchy is not appropriate.
