In a joint effort with the Uttar Pradesh government, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship hosted the PM‑SETU Industry Conference in Lucknow to align skill training with industry needs, promote entrepreneurship, and strengthen public‑private partnerships across the state.

The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh government, convened the PM‑SETU Industry Conference in Lucknow to bridge the growing gap between vocational training and the evolving demands of the manufacturing, services, and technology sectors. The event, held at the State Convention Centre, drew senior officials from the Ministry, UP’s Chief Minister’s Office, industry leaders, representatives of trade associations, and participants from leading skill training institutes. The conference underscored the Ministry’s commitment to the PM‑SETU framework, which seeks to create a national ecosystem of excellence in skill training, certification, and industry linkage.

Key sessions focused on mapping industry skill requirements, expanding apprenticeship programmes, and leveraging digital platforms for upskilling. A panel of CEOs from the textile, automotive, and fintech sectors highlighted the need for curriculum updates that incorporate emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and Internet of Things. The event also unveiled a joint funding initiative that will provide grants and tax incentives for SMEs to adopt advanced training modules and for start‑ups to access incubation and mentorship services. Participants noted that the collaboration will help create a pipeline of job-ready talent, reduce skill gaps, and stimulate local entrepreneurship ecosystems across Uttar Pradesh.

The conference aligns with the national Skill India Mission’s goal of training 400 million people by 2030 and reflects
