MP Narendra Mehta demands CP investigate alleged corruption involving the “Rent a Garba Partner” app.

In Miraj Bhaiandar city as well as in the Mumbai suburbs and Thane, large‑scale dandiya and garba events are organized on the occasion of Navaratri. Meanwhile, it has been claimed that through the app “Rent a Garba Partner” women, men, youths and young women are advertised on various social media platforms—including Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram—as “partners” for amounts ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹6,500.

MLA Narendra Mehta has demanded that an investigation be launched into this matter and that legal action be taken against those involved. He met Police Commissioner Niket Kaushik and submitted a memorandum to him.

Mehta said that this case is serious and could raise concerns about the safety of women and young women. He also warned that people might be defrauded and that their personal information could become public.

He demanded that the “Rent a Garba Partner” app be investigated immediately, and that strict legal action be taken against the app’s operators and its promoters if any violations of the rules are found.

He also called for necessary restrictive measures against those who create or promote such apps in the future, keeping citizens’ safety in mind.

Mehta appealed to the police to launch an awareness campaign specifically targeting women and young women about this app and to inform them to remain cautious of such advertisements.
