The central government unveiled a new economic policy, focusing on industry and agriculture.

City News Mumbai•6 September 2026 at 05:42 am•0 views•2 min read

India's central government today released a new economic policy that places special emphasis on industry, agriculture, and job creation. The aim of this policy is to accelerate economic growth and promote rural‑urban coordination.

The central government unveiled its flagship economic policy document this morning, presented to Parliament and forwarded for approval in the upcoming session. The primary aim of the policy is to accelerate India’s economic growth and create new employment opportunities. The document outlines several schemes for reforms in industry, agriculture, digital infrastructure, and the energy sector.

Key members of Parliament and policymakers clarified that the new policy is based on the targets set for the 2024-25 fiscal year. In particular, the government has decided to further strengthen the “Make in India” initiative to boost investment in the manufacturing sector. Additionally, a new “Agriculture Digital Platform” will be launched to provide technology‑based assistance to farmers.

Moreover, the policy includes provisions for employment creation through training programs for youth and tax incentives to encourage the startup ecosystem. To promote the use of renewable sources in the energy sector, the government has announced a 40% renewable energy target by 2030.

The Finance Minister of the central government said, “This policy marks a new chapter in our economic strategy, ensuring inclusive development and sustainable growth.” He also noted that the policy will strengthen India’s position in economic stability and global competitiveness.

Analysts say the impact of the new policy will be clearly felt in both the industrial and agricultural sectors. Especially, the expansion of digital infrastructure in rural areas will help farmers connect directly to markets.

The policy also includes steps to expand banking services for financial inclusion, promote digital payments, and foster fintech innovation. This initiative aims to enhance economic inclusion and reduce financial disparities.

Overall, this new economic policy of the central government is a significant step for India’s economic progress. It will benefit not only industry and agriculture but the entire society. The government’s decision is expected to bring positive changes to India’s economic landscape in the coming years.
