Torrent Power employees celebrated Raksha Bandhan at old‑age homes, bringing smiles to the elders’ faces.

Bhiwandi: Employees of Torrent Power Limited celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan this year by linking it to social responsibility in a unique way. On Sunday, August 23, company staff, along with their families, visited the Matoshri Old Age Home in Padgha, the Vanprath Old Age Home in Angaon, and the Upvan Old Age Home in Thane. There they observed Raksha Bandhan with senior citizens and shared happiness with them.

The employees conversed with the elders residing in the homes and spent time with them, distributing sweets during the visit. Female staff tied rakhis on the wrists of elderly men, while the senior women of the homes tied rakhis on male employees, conveying a message of affection and belonging. The elders blessed the employees.

On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, songs, cultural programs, and various games were organized at the old‑age homes. Both staff and seniors participated enthusiastically in these activities. The events created a festive atmosphere in the homes, and after a long time, the faces of the elders reflected joy and a sense of togetherness.

Torrent Power’s public‑relations officer Chetan Badiyani said that the company’s responsibility extends beyond electricity supply to include social concerns as an important component. Festivals provide an opportunity for people to connect with each other.
