He also announced that 70 TMC of water will be diverted to the Godavari valley through the interlinking project. Today, on the occasion of Marathwada Liberation Day, the Chief Minister hoisted the flag in the main official function held at Siddhartha Udyan in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. In it, along with the water issue, the picture of the government's effort to speed up health and industry emerged from these announcements. A new building of Government Medical College worth Rs 710 crore is being constructed in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, a state-of-the-art hospital and medical college with 500 beds in Dharashiv, and a veterinary college worth Rs 565 crore is being constructed in Parli. In the industrial sector, efforts are being made to make Shendra-Bidkin and DMIC area a big center for EV manufacturing, he said, adding that the process of acquiring another 8 thousand acres of land for investment by companies like Toyota, JSW and Ather is underway. At the same time, it was also highlighted that the Jalna Dryport, road projects worth around Rs 3500 crore and the longest elevated road in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will also boost the communication infrastructure.

Meanwhile, while giving an assurance to help the farmers in this year's drought situation, they promised to complete the Panchnama after October 5 and give immediate help. It was claimed that more than 15 lakh farmers have become debt free so far through the Punyashlok Ahilya Devi Holkar Yojana. Along with free electricity, the Chief Minister also said that the old electricity bills worth Rs. 48 thousand crores have been cancelled. The government has also given assurance on the city's water issue and expressed confidence that every house in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar will soon be provided with drinking water every day.

Marathwada's drought is not just a matter of rainfall, but of water availability and its planning. Hence, the announcement of linking the Krishna basin, Bhima basin, Konkan-Ulhas and Godavari basins has brought the issue of long-term water management back into focus.
