Anger in the cabinet over Manoj Zarange's language........?

Mumbai, 15th (Anant Nalavde)- On Tuesday, there was a tone of displeasure and anger against Manoj Jarange-Patil, who was preparing for a protest once again to demand Maratha reservation in the state. In addition to the offensive language used by Jarange about the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers and other political leaders, some ministers also raised strong objections to the political stance taken through the language protest. Why is the government constantly being targeted when the Mahayuti government has taken many important decisions for the Maratha community....? It is understood that such an angry question was also raised in the meeting.

While the government has taken decisions within the legal and constitutional framework on various demands, mainly including Maratha reservation, some ministers have clarified that dialogue and legal channels are the only option instead of the politics of pressure on judicial issues. There is also the question of whether some demands including "Sagesoyre" will survive the court test. Therefore, if the government takes any hasty decision on this, it may be challenged in the court and the final impact may be on the Maratha community, it was also said in the meeting.

In the meeting, displeasure was also expressed over the statements made by Jarange about the leaders of the Grand Alliance including Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Sanjay Shirsat. Therefore, even though the right to protest is accepted, there should be some limits regarding the language of people's representatives and the direction of the protest.

Interestingly, since the protest will take place during Ganeshotsav in Mumbai, the issue of traffic, congestion and law and order arising from it was also discussed. Because during this festival lakhs of devotees from home and abroad are coming to Mumbai, the government has made it clear that the responsibility of the protestors is not to cause inconvenience to Ganesha devotees and ordinary citizens.

Now what did the Fadnavis government do...?

For the first time in Maharashtra, in 2014, when Devendra Fadnavis was the Chief Minister, it was decided to give reservation to the Maratha community. Later, in court proceedings, that reservation was cancelled. After that, the Mahayuti government called a special session and decided to give 10 percent separate reservation to the Maratha community. Since then, the government claims that the students and youth of the Maratha community are getting the benefit of this reservation.
Apart from this, a special Justice Shinde committee was formed for the process of issuing certificates to Maratha citizens with Kunbi records. It has been said by the government that certificates have been given to lakhs of citizens in this process as well. So "what did the government do".....? The government has put forward a list of decisions on this question also...; But due to Jarange's movement, the issue of reservation has again come to the center of political struggle.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also appealed to Jarange to be patient in the wake of Ganeshotsav. Also, the government has been positive about the fair demands of the Maratha community from the beginning and on the one hand, there will be no injustice to the OBCs or any other community. Shinde has repeatedly clarified that the government's position is that while giving justice to the Maratha community, the Chief Minister, Minister, Collector, Superintendent of Police and representatives of the government are continuously communicating with Jarange. Since some issues are sub judice, the government is ready to resolve them within the legal and constitutional framework. Shinde also appealed to the protesters to take a positive stance if the government is taking four steps forward. Even in that

But if we try to make a political interpretation of all these developments, one thing comes to mind that till now the movement of Jarange had the face of administrative and social issue. But now there is a possibility that the struggle will have a clear political color due to the criticism of the Mahayuti government's decisions, personal statements on the leaders and the Mumbai movement during the Ganeshotsav period. Also, in the background of the upcoming local body elections, whose side is stronger among the Maratha voters and which party's political direction of the movement will benefit or lose, the opponents along with the Mahayuti are also paying attention.
