Darkness on routes to Tadali and Kamathgarh ghats raises accident concerns; Councillor Nilesh Chaudhary demands prompt action from Municipal Commissioner
Bhiwandi: During Ganeshotsav, Councillor Nilesh Harichandra Chaudhary has drawn the attention of the Bhiwandi‑Nizampur Municipal Corporation administration to the safety of the large number of Ganesh devotees arriving at the Tadali and Kamathgarh Ganesh immersion ghats.
Chaudhary has requested the Municipal Commissioner to install adequate pathway lamps on the routes leading to both immersion ghats and to immediately activate the currently nonfunctional street lights.
According to Councillor Chaudhary, during Ganeshotsav, a large number of devotees head to the ghats in the evening and at night to immerse the Ganesh idols. In such circumstances, the lack of sufficient lighting on the roads keeps the risk of accidents looming. In particular, devotees walking in the dark, women, children, and members of Ganesh mandals may face difficulties.
In his request, he demanded that adequate lighting be ensured on all major routes leading to the Tadali Ganesh immersion ghats and the Kamathgarh Ganesh immersion ghats. He also emphasized the immediate activation of the street lights that are currently off between Oswal School and the Kamathgarh Ganesh immersion ghats.
During the immersion at night, crowds of pedestrians along with vehicles increase on these routes. In such cases, poor or nonfunctional street lights reduce visibility on the road, heightening the risk of accidents. Chaudhary has asked the municipal administration to inspect the relevant routes before the immersion, repair faulty pathway lamps, and provide additional lighting where necessary.
Considering the safety and convenience of Ganesh devotees, Councillor Nilesh Harichandra Chaudhary has urged the municipal administration to take immediate action in this matter so that devotees do not have to face darkness and disorder during the immersion.
