Funding Booster for Marathi Students' Hostels; Plan to Launch Eight Hostels from Next Academic Year...
Mumbai, 29 (Anant Nalavde) – The state government has allocated a large sum of funds to accelerate the educational facilities for students of the Marathi community in the state while strengthening plans for economic development. The funds include ₹122 crore 34 lakh 60 thousand for the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (Sarathi), and ₹150 crore for the Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation, according to Dr. Radhakrishna Vikhye Patil, Minister of Water Resources and Chairperson of the Marathi Reservation Ministry Subcommittee, who announced this on Tuesday.
Through Sarathi, educational and social facilities are being provided to students of the Marathi community. A large number of students are also benefiting from educational scholarships. He also expressed firm confidence that the funding for hostel construction will further accelerate these efforts.
Dr. Vikhye Patil also stated that the funds were made available to the Sarathi institution through Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and a government order approving ₹122 crore 34 lakh 60 thousand for hostel construction was issued.
The construction of eight hostels, each with a capacity of 500 students and 500 female students, for students of the Marathi community in the state is nearing completion. Dr. Vikhye Patil clarified that these hostels will be made available to students starting from the next academic year.
Meanwhile, the budget has allocated ₹750 crore for the Annasaheb Patil Economic Development Corporation. Of this, ₹450 crore has already been made available, and an additional ₹150 crore has now been provided through Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Minister Vikhye Patil added.
