A major dispute has emerged over OC filings in Bhiander’s Navghar area. ‘Dhamodar Tower’ developer Devaram Mandora has leveled serious accusations against BJP MLA Narendra Mehta and Mayor’s husband Vinod Mehta. The developer claims that in exchange for an OC filing, a 10 percent stake in the development project and a terrace flat were demanded. Two alleged audio clips supporting these accusations have been handed over to the police.
The case heated up further when Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik convened a meeting in the Municipal Design Department in the presence of officials and the complainant. The developer alleged that despite completing all necessary documents, the OC was not being issued and that political pressure was being exerted behind the scenes.
During the meeting, Minister Sarnaik demanded an answer from the administration on the matter. An officer stated that the OC would be issued within seven days. The police were also instructed to investigate the complaint and audio clips and take necessary legal action.
The Audio Clip Amplifies the Storm
The developer claims that MLA Narendra Mehta demanded a 10 percent stake in return for the OC filing, while Vinod Mehta is accused of demanding a terrace flat. The police will now verify the authenticity of the audio clip and the conversation it contains.
However, independent confirmation of the allegations has not yet been made.
Narendra Mehta Denies the Allegations as Baseless
MLA Narendra Mehta has completely dismissed the accusations. He says that because the developer had not provided homes to the old residents of the redeveloped building, he instructed that the OC not be issued until all old residents received their homes.
On the audio clip, Mehta claimed it is about two years old and is being misrepresented. He also said that at that time he was not an MLA.
Mehta also called the accusations made by Minister Pratap Sarnaik baseless, stating that an attempt is being made to defame him.
The investigation of the audio clip, police action, and the next administrative step regarding the OC filing are now considered crucial in this entire matter.
